Trip to Cork and Kinsale

Going to Cork, Jana joined me or better I joined Jana, as it was her idea to go south. We took a day of and headed south. You will recognize that there are no pictures of Cork. That is because we arrived in Cork around 6:00 p.m. and left it the next morning at ten. We didn`t found it very interesting. Though the night life wasn`t too bad. Jana and I were just to tired to go out, after climbing around the "Rock of Cashel" and driving all the way down. The Sunday we drove out to Cobh which is a smal town lokated on a peninsula next to Cork. Beside that we had beautiful weather there wasn`t much to see. For that reason we decided to go in direction of Kinsale. Bored of looking at sights we stayed two hours on a meadow at the coast; just relaxing. By six p.m. we reached Kinsale, the irish "Saint Tropez" my tour guide tells me. Just great and you have lots of restaurants to choose from, but not really cheap. On Monday we went out to "Old Head of Kinsale", where we enjoyed the fresh breeze. I hope you like the pictures!

Rock of Cashel
The first stop we made was at the Rock of Cashel which is a Castle on a hill popping up out of nothing. The picture shows Jana in the ruins of Hore Abbey which is right underneath the Rock of Cashel where Jana is pointing at.
I told you lies. The first stop we made was just near the Rock of Cashel, at the Holycross Abby. If you pay close attention you will recognize that here the "Holy Water"comes from the crane.
Holy Water
Jana May I introduce you to Jana. This picture was taken at the Charles Fort, which is an impressive Fort built to secure Kinsale. Kinsale itself is said to be the Saint-Tropez of Ireland.
Here you can see Kinsale harbor at night.
