Trip to Galway, Connamara and the Burren

As I said, just the second weekend in Ireland, my bags barely unpacked, I went to Galway with Annette and Jana during the Bank Holiday weekend. We had a great time together. On Saturday morning we started and arrived in Galway around noon. Happy having booked the hostel in advance, because the place was packed, as there where the great races on. Around 3:00 p.m. we went out of town to get a first impression on Connamara which is north of Galway. So we went to Spiddle, a small nice town on the coast. The second day we drove past Spiddle out to Clifden. In Clifden it was raining and anything else than nice. We decided to hike on a hill nearby, but we couldn`t really find the right way. So back to the car. Going back home (Galway) we had our first experience with irish road signs, which means we lost our way. After getting back to the route we passed Kylemore Abbey, of which you find a photo further down. The Monday we got terrible wet. This time we went south into the Burren. There we saw the "Cliffs of Moher" in dripping rain. That`s it, back to Dublin and work!

You want to know what Ireland is about? Just look in these eyes!!:-)
Here the promised picture of the Kylemore Abbey. It is really like a dream. In these days it is used as school for daughters of higher families.
Kylemore Abbey
Burren Nothing much to say, it was wet in the Burren.
These are the "Cliffs of Moher", the main attraction in the Burren. But 20 minutes out there and my jeans were all over wet.
