Kiwitours in the Green Mashine

After landing in Auckland and reasuring that I did not bring any animals, food or erde I went to the city by bus to find a hostel. The one I picked was not very cool but cheap. I directly went to bed. The next das was to find out what to do. I was told that the south island it much more beatifull that the New Zealand North Island. Cheapest way to go south is the night train which I planned (already booked). Consulting the different travel agencies I figured that the night train will consume at least three of my valuable day. So I decidet to take the plane to Christchurch and then travel with the famous Green Mashine. I walked around Auckland, but could not find anything too interesting, also it was raining. The flight was the same afternoon. In Christchurch I spand another lonly night in a hostel The next morning I meat two creasy english girl (Rosie and Abby) and two Canadian. With a samll van we were driving to the real bus.

To get some movement after hours in the bus we stopped at the coast and walked.

Our Wilderness Stopover in the middle of no where. Here we had a rocking fancy dress party. The drinking competition was won by the international team of a South African, an Irish girl, a New Zealand, a british and guess of a German guy called Marc :-). During some calm time I took the picture of the lake with the South alps in the Background.

Also this romantic picture was taking during the Wilderness Stoppover. During the whole trip there were no civilisation.

Wanaka was no official stop (just for an hour or so), but I read many nice things about Wanaka and also I was very keen on Snowboarding. So I left the bus and stayed in Wanaka for three nights. Very nice city and I enjoyed Boardnig though the snow was very slushy. Some other people (Jane and a friend of hers) left the bus there. We had a superb pizza the second night. They also went Snowboarding, but where beginners.

Finally leaving New Zealand to start working with Cambridge Technology Partners in Frankfurt.
